    1840 MAIL LONDON TO 'BIDDULPH CHURCH, STAFFORDSHIRE' WITH 'MISSENT/TO/STONE' HAND STAMP (ST690). Wrapper from London to 'The Officiating Minister, Biddulph Church, Staffordshire', post paid '1' and London 'PAID' date stamp 13 FE 1840. Letter evidently missorted, on front fine strike 'MISSENT/TO/STONE' boxed hand stamp in red (ST690) with manuscript instruction 'Stone' crossed through with 'Congleton' alongside. This missent hand stamp recorded in use 1831-1839, this cover extends usage by one year. (Ref 128822).
