South Molton' with fine 1d (SG8) lettered BL with four close to large margins tied fine strike '779' barred numeral of Minehead. On front good to fine strike 'MINEHEAD/185' mileage mark in black (SO625). On reverse TAUNTON date stamp JU 5 1844 and SOUTH MOLTON date stamp JU 6 1844. This cover is the earliest known use of the '779' barred numeral of Minehead. (Ref 128254).
