Leicester' with 1d (SG8) lettered SJ, filing fold affects but four close to large margins and tied fine to very fine strike '864' barred numeral of Wells. Letter clearly dated 14th June 1844 and on reverse WELLS SOMERSET date stamp JU 15 1844. This cover is the earliest known use of the '864' barred numeral of Wells. (Ref 128253).
