Stamp shows fine 10 o'clock ray flaw NW square and SUPERB HORIZONTAL GUIDE LINE SE SQUARE. On reverse 'NORTH.SHIELDS' date stamp JA 25 1841. Interesting letter which makes reference to 'Lloyds Register of British and Foreign Shipping' with references to ships named 'Nicholas' and 'Rapid'. Filing fold well clear of stamp. (Ref 131111).
