Head Esqre, Hexham' with good used 1d Archer experimental perforation pl.97 (SG16b) lettered DB tied fine strike London '23' Inland Office numeral. Filing fold just affects stamp at left. On reverse London date stamp AU 8 1853. A good used Archer on cover before the introduction of official perforation in February 1854. (Ref 135047).
