Fine used 1d Mulready lettersheet, stereo A26, used on May 8th 1840, THIRD DAY OF ISSUE from Banbury to 'Mifs Davis, 4 Church Lane, Lee, Kent' cancelled fine red Maltese cross of Banbury and on front 'BANBURY' date stamp MY 8 1840 in red. On reverse two very fine strikes London date stamps MY 8 1840, at a time when mail was posted and delivered on the same day!! Attractive and very early usage. (Ref 140893).
