    1830 MAIL CAMBRIDGE TO LONDON WITH 'L' CIRCULAR HAND STAMP (L195). Fine letter Cambridge to Great Russell Street Bloomsbury London, dated March 25th 1830, charged '8', on front boxed 'T.P.Rate' hand stamp crossed through with zig zag hand stamp (10 bars, L660). Also on front fine strike of the circular 'L' hand stamp in red (L195) and large style 'G P.' hand stamp (L678) also in red applied when mail transferred from the General Post to the London Post. On reverse CAMBRIDGE date stamp MR 25 1830. The purpose of the circular 'L' hand stamp is unknown, although Sunday usage has been suggested but 26th March 1830 was a Friday. (Ref 124401).
