Envelope, slight faults from Forres to 'Messrs Gordon and Son, Solicitors, London' with Die 2 1d red-brown on blued paper (SG29) lettered TB tied fine strike '145' Scottish numeral of Forres. On front manuscript 'Try 8 Princes St, Cavendish Square,' and circular London handstamp in red 'L' within. On reverse manuscript 'Not Known', 'Forres' date stamp JY 17 1856 and five strikes various London date stamps all JY 17 1856 from attempted deliveries. (Ref 142818).
