Envelope from London to 'Edwin Atherstone Esq, 33 Old Elvet, Durham' with 1d (SG8) lettered EF, cut into several places and tied fine strike London Inland Office '1' numeral. On reverse blue wafer seal inscribed 'Mary' with gold edging, part damage at left from opening. Also on reverse 'DURHAM' date stamp OC 2 1844. (Ref 39781).
