Description

1849 MAIL COLOMBO, CEYLON TO LONDON WITH HERALDIC WAFER SEALS ON REVERSE. Fine wrapper, letter no longer present from Colombo dated 10th June 1849 to 'Rob. J. Tennent Esq, M.P., Up. Heath, Hampstead, London' charged '8' and on front London date stamp 'CROWN 30 JY 30 1849'. On reverse two circular embossed wafer seals in blue with heraldic coat of arms, one very fine and one with slight damage from opening. (Ref 145363).
