145269 1847 LATE USE 1d MULREADY WRAPPER DONCASTER, YORKSHIRE TO HALIFAX WITH 'THE SCOTTISH PROVIDENT INSTITUTION' ADVERT WITH MANUSCRIPT ALTERATION CONCERNING AGENT AT LOWER RIGHT (MA138c).

1847 LATE USE 1d MULREADY WRAPPER DONCASTER, YORKSHIRE TO HALIFAX WITH 'THE SCOTTISH PROVIDENT INSTITUTION' ADVERT WITH MANUSCRIPT ALTERATION CONCERNING AGENT AT LOWER RIGHT (MA138c). Good used 1847 late usage 1d Mulready wrapper, stereo unclear from Doncaster, Yorkshire to 'Mr Thos Hebblethwaite, Greenmount, Halifax' with two fine strikes '255' numeral of Doncaster and on front one part and one very fine strike 'DONCASTER' date stamp DE 13 1847. On reverse 'LEEDS' and 'HALIFAX' date stamps DE 15 1847 both in blue. Within fine 'THE SCOTTISH PROVIDENT INSTITUTION FOR ASSURANCES AND ANNUITIES ON LIVES', at foot printed reference to agent in Leeds has crossed through with manuscript addition 'Doncaster Agent'. Whilst Mulready has some faults, mainly on reverse this is the only recorded example of this manuscript change of agency and is list by SG as MA138c. (Ref 145269).
