1816 FREE MAIL BANGOR, CAERNARVONSHIRE TO HOLYHEAD. Wrapper, some creasing sent free mail from Bangor, Caernarvonshire to 'The Revd. Ellis Anwyl Owen, Holyhead' dated October 9th 1816 and signed 'Anglesey' at lower left. Anglesey was the first Marquess, a well know soldier/stateman who gained lasting noteriety by losing his right leg at the Battle of Waterloo. On front 'BANGOR' date stamp 9 OC 1816. (Ref 145257).
