Letter from Settle, North Yorks to 'The Bowling Iron Co, Bowling, Nr Bradford, Yorkshire' qwith fine 1d pl.162 (SG8) lettered OK, four close but clear to fine margins and cancelled '696' numeral of Settle. Stamp shows excellent constant variety 'SCRATCH ABOVE 'O' SQUARE', on imprimatur sheet but unlisted by SG. On front 'BRADFORD.YORKS' date stamp AP 28 1853 and on reverse 'SETTLE' date stamp AP 27 1853. Fine usage. (Ref 145127.)
