    1876 MAIL USED IN LONDON 1d PL.166 (SG43) WITH CIRCULAR MIS-SORTED HANDSTAMP 'M/E/C/A'. Envelope used in London to 'Mesrs. Whitfield and Son, Buttermen, Old Bond Street' fine 1d pl.166 (SG43) lettered EI tied good strike 'LONDON.W/W.C.57' duplex FE 8 76. Evidently mis-sorted with very fine strike of the circular mis-sorted with 'M/E/C/A' with 'M' indicating mis-sent, the two central letters indicating where the letter was mis-sent to and the lower letter denoting the office where the mis-sent handstamp was applied.
