Wrapper, slight imperfections sent free mail from Devizes in Wiltshire 'For Edward Clarke Esq, at Chipley Near Wellington In Somerset', signed at lower left 'Free W a-Court'. On reverse fine to very fine strike 'DEVI/ZES' two line handstamp in black (WL217). Whilst undated this handstamp only recorded 1760-1762. Sir William Pierce Ashe a Court was a Member of Parliament for Heytesbury. (Ref 144807).
