Envelope, slight soiling, from Charing Cross 'J, Cornwall, 37 Grosvenor Place,' 'Admiralty' mamnuscript at lower left, post paid in cash with fine strike 'Charing +/1D.PAID' handstamp in black. (L509/CHARX15). Redirected to 'The Honble. Lady Shaw, Rochester' with 1d (SG8) lettered NE , touched at upper right otherwie very close but just clear to good margins and tied fine strike London maltese cross. On reverse 'ROCHESTER' date stamp MA 29 1842. (Ref 144733).
