Lang and Alexander, Selkirk' post paid in cash with fine strikes boxed 'ABERDEEN/PAID' date stamp JA 17 1848 and very fine strike Aberdeen '1' UPP handstamp both in ruby. Aberdeen post office is well known for the use of this colour ink. Also on front 'SELKIRK' datestamp JA 18 1848. (Ref 144714).
