1828 'MONEY LETTER' THOMASTOWN, CO KILKENNY TO DUBLIN 'FRANKFORD/60' MILEAGE MARK AND BOXED 'MORE/+ TO +/PAY' HANDSTAMP. Fine letter written at Thomastown, County Kilkenny July 18 1828 enclosing £87 in cash and a bank order for £100, put into the post at Frankford, Co. Offaly with good strike 'FRANKFORD/60' mileage mark handstamp in black and charge of '8'. On front upon arrival in Dublin chamfered 'MORE/+ TO +/PAY' handstamp in red and then boxed 'PAID' date stamp 19 JY 1828. At this time the 'Money Letter' system was free upon request but evidently postage underpaid due to enclosures. (Ref 144631).
