Envelope, rear flap missing and surface scuff to small part of address, from Reading, Berks to Sydney, New South Wales with SEVEN Die 2 1d pl.45 rose-red on white paper (SG40) being two strips of three lettered SJ SK SL and SG SH SI paying 6d ¼-½oz rate and a further 1d red pl.45 (SG40) lettered OL paying 1d late fee. Stamps tied fine strikes 'READING/635' sideways duplex in black DE 9 1857 and at upper left clear of stamps very fine strike 'READING/635' sideways duplex DE 9 1857 IN BLUE. 'OL' and 'SG' constant varieties. BPS Cert 78414. A very rare usage of this plate rose-red on white paper particularly with a coloured cancellation. (Ref 144489).
