1841 PENNY MULREADY WRAPPER BRIGHTON TO LONDON, VERY FINE BLACK MALTESE CROSS AND BRIGHTON CIRCULAR 'PD1' UNIFORM PENNY POST HANDSTAMP IN RED (SX230). Very fine penny Mulready wrapper, stereo A255 from Brighton, Sussex to 'Mefsrs. Palmer and Co, 24 Bedford Row, London' cancelled superb strike of the normal type Brighton Maltese cross in black only five days before first recorded use of the 'Brighton Special'. Also on front fine strike London 'PAID' tombstone style date stamp 27 MR 1841 and very fine strike Brighton oval 'PD1' Uniform Penny Post handstamp in red-orange type I (SX230).
