1846 'SHORT TIME.' POSTER FROM HALIFAX TO KEIGHLEY 1d (SG8). A very fine printed poster 342 x 420 mm informing about 'SHORT TIME.' From Halifax to 'Robert Cough Esq, Keighley' with good to fine 1d (SG8) lettered DB, good four margins and tied '330' numeral of Halifax. On reverse 'HALIFAX' date stamp SP 9 1846 and on front 'BRADFORD YORKS' date stamp dame date. Poster informs about 'SHORT TIME.' whereby employees in factories who were apparently wishing to work less hours are offered to do so accompanied a proportionate reduction of wages. A very interesting poster reflecting Vicorian working practices. (Ref 144212).
