1831 POST OFFICE RECEIPT OF REFUND OF OVERCHARGE OF POSTAGE ON FREE FRANK LETTER TO SHREWSBURY. Fine printed receipt, 94 x 72 mm in respect of a refund of overcharging postage on a free frank letter London to Shrewsbury 'REceived the 30th Oct 1831 of the Postm'. of Shrewsbury the sum of tenpence overcharged on a single Letter from London directed to Sir R Hill Bt MP which contained and was taxed 10d'. This is not the Roland Hill connected to Postal Reform but Roland Hill the MP for Shropshire. Very unusual. (Ref 144195).
