Monypenny and Co, Edinburgh', slight creasing cancelled fine to very fine strike London Maltese cross in red. On reverse London date stamp NO 2 1840 and Edinburgh date stamp NOV 4 1840. Within fine printed advertisement 'Clerical, Medical and General LIFE ASSURANCE SOCIETY, MARCH 5TH 1840' with four financial points (Spec MA106a). One of only five examples recorded to date.
