1841 1d MULREADY WRAPPER 'AYR' TAX OFFICE (SPEC MA202a) USED. Used 1841 1d Mulready wrapper, stereo A247 Ayr to Maybole, address faded and some soiling, cancelled good strike Ayr Maltese cross in black and on reverse 'MAYBOLE' date stamp AP 24 1841. Within fine printed Ayr tax demand with imprint 'To the Collector of Taxes in Ayrshire' and demanding tax arrears from Mr. Thomas Hamellow of Maybole. Faults but one of only four examples recorded to date. (Ref 143950).
