1839 MAIL PISA, TUSCANY TO LONDON VARIOUS HANDSTAMP AND WAFER SEAL ON REVERSE. Fine entire letter from Pisa dated 5th October 1839 mentioning a scientific meeting and religion addressed to 'Hon W J Strangways, Downing Street, London', charged '8', also on front orange date stamp and ornnate 'Pisa' handstamp in red. On reverse 'LONDON'Foreign Branch date stamp 18 OCT 1839 and very fine wafer seal gold on blue depicting two lions rampant, shield between. Unusual. (Ref 143940).
