    CIRCA 1848-1849 'ABOLITION OF SUNDAY LABOUR' ILLUSTRATED ENVELOPE, FINE UNUSED. Fine unused 'Abolition of Sunday Labour' illustrated envelope by Mitchell of Lovells Court, Paternoster Row in London in black on grey wove paper printed to promote keeping the Sabbath a Holy Day. Image depicts the Devil emptying a sack of letters over the steeple of a church with the devils tail in the doorway of the General Post Office. Text on front reads 'REMEMBER THAT THOU KEEP HOLY SABBATH DAY/SUNDAY POSTBAG/SINNER OF WORK'. On reverse text reads 'ANSWER NO LETTER DELIVERED ON SUNDAY'. Very scarce, (Ref 143939).
