CIRCA 1851 VALENTINE 'PEACE’ ORIGINAL ENVELOPE IN BLACK ON GREY WOVE PAPER. Unused circa 1851 James Valentine 'Peace' original enelope in black on grey wove paper, slight soiling and some creasing. At the top of design above the clasped hands is Peace receiving homage from various races surrounded by the flags of various nations. Below this inscription reads 'NATION SHALL NOT LIFT UP SWORD AGAINST NATION NEITHER SHALL THEY LEARN WAR ANY MORE'. In centre below are figures from four quarters of the globe and images of Cornucupia. Envelope has been addressed to 'Revd G Nettleship, Clutton' but unposted. (Ref 143851).
