A good to fine unused circa 1851 James Valentine 'Commercial/Industrial' original envelope in black on grey wove paper, tone spot on reverse only. Design references Commerce and Industry with image of the 1851 Great Exhibition building at upper right and Britannia at centre surrounded by emblems of Manufacture, Arts, Sciences etc, receiving representatives from other nations. Inscription reads 'BRITANNIA ENCOURAGES THE INDUSTRY OF THE GLOBE'. (Ref 143845).
