A fine unused circa 1890 Deraedemaeker reprint Onwhyn/Valentine 'Civilization of America' envelope in black on blue wove paper with 'ONWHYN' at foot but on reverse 'Designed and Engraved by J Valentine Dundee'.The image is symbolic of the progress of civilization in America, on the left are Indians in their canoes, Niagara falls, Missionaries, Early settlers and a church, on the right a great city with scenes of shipping and industry.
