1844 MAIL RATHMORE, KINSALE, IRELAND TO DEVONPORT 1d (SG8) VERY FINE KINSALE MALTESE CROSS. Fine letter Rathmore, Kinsale dated January 30th 1844 to 'Rt Honble. The Lord Lisle, Chandler House, Devonport, England', 1d (SG8), cut into several places and unusual 'roulette' wavy type cut at top, tied very fine strike Kinsale Maltese cross thin lined type as usually seen in Scotland. On reverse' KINSALE' date stamps FE2 and FE 3 1844. Mike Jackson records nine examples of this cancellation in his Encylopedia. (Ref 143829).
