Good used example 'WHITAKER'S ALMANACK' illustrated envelope which closely imitates the Mulready design, used by Whitaker to promote his business. Used within London to Paternoster Row with 1d lilac (SG172) 'LONDON' cancellation 3 DE 94. Inscription reads ' THE BEST, THE MOST COMPLETE, THE CHEAPEST AND MOST USEFUL ALMANACK PUBLISHED'. Slight soiling and vertical fold but priced accordingly. (Ref 143752).
