    CIRCA 1821 COACHING INN RECEIPT 'Mitre Inn, Bangor'. A fine circa 1821 Coaching Inn receipt, 96 x 158 mm from 'WILLIAM WILLIAMS, Mitre Inn, Bangor' in respect of dinner, wine, spirits, hay and corn totalling £0-4-10d. At top of receipt fine image of a Post Coach inscribed 'Prince of Wales Post Coach, every day to London and Holyhead'. The Mitre was the oldest established inn in Bangor formerly known as the Eagles Inn with name changed when William Williams became landlord in 1811. Ten years later its name was changed to the Castle Inn. Very fine. (Ref 143636).
