1735 FREE MAIL BANGOR, CAERNARVONSHIRE TO HATFIELD, HERTFORDSHIRE WITH 'BANGOR' HANDSTAMP PREVIOUSLY UNRECORDED. Letter sent free mail from Bangor dated 13 Sept 1735 'To The Right Revd The Lord Bishop of Bangor at Hatfield in Hertfordshire' sent free mail with manuscript 'P' on front. On reverse good to fine strike 'BANGOR' straight line handstamp in black, 35 x 6 mm, unrecorded in County Catalogue. Also on reverse good to fine strike London Bishop mark '17/SE'. Very scarce early usage of handstamp. (Ref 143634).
