1852 1D ARCHER PL.98 EXPERIMENTAL PERFORATION ON COVER USED IN SCOTLAND. Envelope, peripheral faults from Lanark to 'The Revd J Lockhart Rofs, Allanton House, Motherwell' with good to fine 1d Archer experimental perforation pl.98 (SG16b) lettered BB tied good strike Scottish numeral. Centred to left but Alphabet 1 check letters clearly visible. On reverse 'LANARK' date stamp MY 16 1852. One of only 17 Archers recorded on cover used in Scotland 3 of which are used in Lanark. Very scarce Scottish usage. (Ref 143602).
