    1867 MAIL LIVERPOOL TO BIGGLESWADE, 1D PL.80 (SG43) FRAUDULENT RE-USE TO AVOID POSTAGE CHARGE. Envelope, small tear at foot, from Liverpool to 'M Wells and Co, Bankers, Biggleswade' with 1d pl.80 (SG43) lettered LD fraudulently re-used in an attempt to avoid postage costs but noticed by postal clerk with manuscript 'Old Stamp' and 'd2' handstamp in black postal charge. Also on front 'LIVERPOOL' date stamp 1 OC 67. RPS Cert 222991 states 'fraudulently re-used on cover....is genuine'. A very rare usage with very few examples in existence. (Ref 142802).
