THREE LETTERS PENRITH TO CARLISLE WITH 'PENRITH/Penny Post' HANDSTAMPS IN BLACK, RED AND BLUE (CU401/405). 1819 letter Alston dated 27 OCT to Carlisle, charged '6' and on front fine strike 'PENRITH/Penny Post' handstamp in black, 1825 mail, same correspondence also charged '6' and good strike 'PENRITH/Penny Post' handstamp in red, third letter Temple Sowerby dated June 25th 1832, charged '6' with fine to very fine strike 'PENRITH/Penny Post' handstamp in blue and on reverse boxed 'No.2' receivers handstamp in blue.
