1763 ABUSE OF FREE MAIL MORPETH TO ALNWICK WITH 'MOR/PETH' TWO LINE HAND STAMP (NR410). Letter, slight faults, sent free mail from Morpeth dated July 3rd 1763 'To Mr Thos. Adams, Attorney at Law, In Alnwick' endorsed at lower left 'Free Grey', first Earl Grey and whose son is associated with the tea brand, on reverse fine to very fine strike 'MOR/PETH' two line hand stamp in black (NR410). Abuse of free mail as signed by 'Grey' but letter actually written by Eleanor Collingwood. Good usage. (Ref 141860).
