1840-41 MATCHED TRIO 1D BLACKS PL.1A (SG3), PL.1B (SG2) AND PENNY RED PL.1C (SG7/SPEC AS8) LETTERED CF. Fine used 1840 1d grey-black pl.1a (SG3) with slight plate wear, four close but fine margins, light strike red Maltese cross, 5 and 10 o'clock ray flaws NW square and 'BLURRED 'C'. Matched fine 1d black pl.1b (SG2) lettered CF, fine strike black Maltese cross, 7 and 10 o'clock ray flaws NW square and also showing 'BLURRED 'C'. Accompanied by fine to very fine 1d red pl.1c (SG7/Spec AS8), fine four margins, small part black Maltese cross and FRESH BURR LINE LEFT MARGIN from plate repair. A very fine trio (3 items).
