Fine to very fine used 1840 1d black pl.1a (SG2) lettered QB, four close to fine margins, very fine red Maltese cross, 5 and 10 o'clock ray flaws and shows 'RIGHT SIDE OF 'Q' FAINT' (Lichfield). Matched with fine used 1d black pl.1b (SG2) lettered QB, four close to very large margins, fine strike of red Maltese cross, also matched fine 1d red pl.1b (SG7) lettered QB with four close to fine margins and cancelled fine strike black Maltese cross. Both plate 1b's show 7 and 10 o'clock ray flaws NW square and 'Q' NORMAL FROM RE-CUTTING. A fine and attractive matched trio (3 items). (Ref 141783).
