Fine envelope sent registered mail from London to 'The Sheffield and Rotherham Bank, Bakewell' with good 6d deep lilac (SG69), several short perforations and fine Die 2 1d brown-rose (SG32) lettered RG tied fine strikes London '24' Inland Office numeral. On front fine strike 'REGISTERED/G.P.O.' date stamp in red 23 SP 1857. On reverse very fine strike 'Regent.St.' receivers handstamp in black (L514/REG14) issued 7 February 57 but not recorded in use by Feldman. Reverse flap very fine printed banking receipt from the 'Union Bank of London'. Fine and attractive usage. (Ref 141734).
