Fine entire from Newcastle upon Tyne with very fine printed market report on 'RIVER TYNE COLLIERIES AND PRICES' and 'RELATIVE PRICES OF COALS' to 'Mr James Hessell, Ship Owner, Rye'. On front 'NEWCASTLE ON TYNE' date stamp JA 16 1840 and very fine strike of the Newcastle '1' reversed UNIFORM PENNY POST HAND STAMP IN RED. This hand stamp unlisted in the County Catalogue and one of only two examples believed to exist, the other being in the Postal Museum. Very rare. (Ref 141727).
