    1731 MAIL HAY ON WYE, BRECON TO QUEEN ANNE'S BOUNTY WITH EARLIEST STRIKE 'HAY' HAND STAMP (W1106). Fine entire letter from Lanelweth, Radnor near Builth dated January 24th 1731 with reference to the Augmentation of the Curacy of Llanelweth 'To Mr Thomas Moore, Secretary to the Governours of the Bounty of Queen Anne, New Court, Middle Temple, London', charged '4' and on reverse good strike 'HAY' straight line hand stamp in black (W1106). Vertical filing fold affects hand stamp but this being the earliest known hand stamp from Hay. (Ref 141712).
