'PENRITH/606' CLOTH COVERED DUPLEX ON 1869/1870 COVERS AND PIECE (3 ITEMS). Envelope with letter from Skirwith, Cumberland to Carlisle with 1d pl.124 (SG43) lettered SL with fine large part strike 'PENRITH/606' duplex OC 3 70 which has clearly been covered in cloth to reduce ink usage. Also envelope Penrith to Kirkby Lonsdale with 1d pl.118 (SG43) lettered LE tied similar large part strike DE 2 69 also showing 'lines' where cloth covered. Small piece with similar example also included. (3 items). Very unusual. (Ref 140974).
