1847 MAIL ALLONBY, CUMBERLAND TO CARLISLE WITH 1D (SG8) AND 'ALLONBY' UDC (CU9). Fine mourning wrapper from Allonby to 'G. G. Mounsey Esq, Solr, Carlisle' with good 1d (SG8) lettered SH, just clear/touched at lower left and tied neat strike of the very scarce '880' numeral of Allonby, Parmenter rarity guide = F. On front fine strike 'ALLONBY' udc in black (CU9) and 'CARLISLE' date stamp MR 15 1847 in blue. (Ref 140948).
