1844 1D PL.49 (SG8)(MD WITH 'M' DOUBLE (SPEC BS38a), BLUE CANCELLATION. Good used 1844 1d pl.49 (SG8) lettered MD, touched at lower left but margins at sides suggest some form of PRIVATE ROULETTING. Stamp shows 'M' DOUBLE (Spec BS38a), the only double letter listed on this plate by SG. Fine strike Scottish numeral in blue. (Ref 140904).
