1911 HARRISON DIE PROOF UNISSUED 8D VALUE USING DOWNEY HEAD WITH EVE'S WREATH BACKGROUND IN BLACK ON CARD, UNLISTED BY SG. A superb stamp size die proof in black on white glazed card, 18x23 mounted on card of a proposed 1911 8d design using the Downey head and Eve's wreath background with uncleared values upper left and right also uncleared value tablet at foot. Upper value tablets with manuscript '8' within. Proof very similar to figs 24 and 24a in SG catalogue, but this proof unlisted. The King objected to this design so it did not proceed.
