1881 UNCLAIMED MAIL LONDON TO NEW YORK WITH VARIOUS INSTUCTIONAL HAND STAMPS. Envelope London to Greenwich, New York, USA with 2½d blue pl.20 (SG142) lettered PC tied fine strike 'LONDON/94' duplex JA 4 81. Evidently undelivered with manuscript 'unclaimed', boxed 'UNCLAIMED' hand stamp in red and boxed 'ADVERTISED' hand stamp in black. On reverse very fine strike triangular 'DEAD/LETTER/OFFICE' date stamp MAR 8 1881 very similar in design to the London Dockwra hand stamp. Good usage. (Ref 136886).
