1840 UNIFORM FOURPENNY POST MAIL BRISTOL TO DUBLIN. Wrapper from Bristol to 'Chas Cobbe Esq, Newbridge, Swords, Dublin', charged '4' and on front good to fine strike unframed 'No.24' receivers hand stamp of Clevedon in black. On reverse fine strike 'BRISTOL/8 JA 1840/PY POST' hand stamp in black and Dublin date stamp JA 10 40. Filing fold clear of hand stamps, a good example of the Uniform Fourpenny Post used at Bristol (5th December 1839 to 9th January 1840). (Ref 132223).
