    CIRCA 1754-1759 'MB' LONDON GENERAL POST RECEIVER'S HAND STAMP OF MARY BASTARD ON MAIL LONDON TO WORCESTER. Fine letter, minor soiling from wax seals, from London 'To Arthur Charlett Esquire, at Fladbury near Worcester' dated 21st January and charged '4'. On reverse good strike 'MB' circular hand stamp of the London General Post receiver Mary Bastard, part overstruck London Bishop mark '21/JA'. Mary Bastard was the London General Post receiver at Parliament Street in 1754 and 1755, her hand stamp continued in use under the receivership of Elizabeth Limbrey. (Ref 129307).
