Service' to 'Mr Forbes, Primrose Street, Bishopsgate Street' dated Nov 2 1787, letter being a requisition for stores from Woolwich Yard, requesting copper nails. Without charge, on reverse good strike Temple Dockwra (L357) 'T/FR' and alongside good strike of the rare 'J. BURGESS/OILMAN.STRAND' London General Post receiver's hand stamp of John Burgess (L382), an Italian Warehouseman and Oilman at 107 Strand where he was a Penny Post receiver 1771 to 1794. This example is the latest recorded usage of this distinctive receiver's hand stamp. (Ref 123370).
